Who We Are

The Oak Ridge Revitalization Effort, a 501[c][3] non-profit group dedicated to the revitalization of Oak Ridge's historic shopping areas & neighborhoods..  In partnership with property owners, preservationists, city & county government, area merchants and corporations, the Oak Ridge Revitalization Effort is committed to spearheading the effort to promote, protect and enhance Jackson Square and Grove Center as the historic core of our community by encouraging business diversity and enhancing the unique physical characteristics through remedial actions that eliminate the physical, economic and social deterioration of these areas by actively promoting  revitalization, rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of existing properties with sustainable solutions that will improve the quality of life in Oak Ridge.  

Our goals include

  • Development of public policy initiatives that encourage the revitalization of Oak Ridge
  • Development of  private sector partnerships that encourage the revitalization of Oak Ridge including the addition of new, upscale retail in our centers, the revitalization of the historic Alexander Guest House and the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhoods
  • To operate the Revitalization Effort under the guidelines  established by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. 
  • To develop a long-range funding plan that will provide financial stability for annual operating and major projects. 
  • To produce special events that promote the mission of the organization and provide additional funds
Community Partnerships are critical to the success of this Revitalization Effort. All work done by this non-profit organization is done by merchants, property owners & volunteers.  Partnership monies will go directly to the efforts of this organization.  All partners will be recognized throughout the year at events hosted by either Jackson Square or Grove Center based on their level of participation.
